I have funding (full fee waiver and stipend) for four PhDs in Natural Language Processing at the University of Bath.

Three of these studentships are available international students.

The Natural Language Processing group at the University of Bath is a rapidly growing group focused on researching methods of explaining the decisions made by deep learning systems, in particular pre-trained language models.

The three international studentships are offered through the UKRI Centre for Doctoral Training in Accountable, Responsible and Transparent AI (ART-AI) and so including a year of training in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning before the start of the research period.

Available Projects

Eligible and highly motivated students are strongly encouraged to get in touch: htm43 AT bath.ac.uk

Neuro-Symbolic Artificial Intelligence for Efficient and Interpretable Natural Language Understanding

Explainable Natural Language Processing for the Analysis of Online Discourse

Explainability in Multimodal Deep Learning: Transparent Fusion of Text and Images

UKRI Centre for Doctoral Training in Accountable, Responsible and Transparent AI (ART-AI)

ART-AI exists to educate interdisciplinary professional experts to make the best, and safest, use of artificial intelligence (AI) and to explore the opportunities, challenges and constraints presented by the diverse range of contexts for AI.
